"Amate" comes from indian language Nahuatl

"amatl" means "leaf of the tree" (this material is extracted from the bark of trees).

Our artists from Guerrero are masters in this kind of paintings. They try to create a variety of motives with luminous colours (e.g. sceneries, birds, villages).

IMPORTANT: These paintings are examples. The color and design may vary as they are painted by hand. The tone of paper can also change because they are handmade.
